sometimes i miss a real live phone.
cell phones have their handy perks, such as, calling someone from the road when your car breaks down. mine happens to have a camera, which i now use so much that my husband has said: "if you want a camera, i'll get you a camera" instead of me taking all these "crappy cell phone pictures". but my photos look crappy even with a camera, so at least this way, i can blame it on the cell phone. poor resolution, etc etc. and, i only have to push one button.
but for how great they are, they still have their downsides...
i got my cell phone out of my purse this morning, (i stuff it in my back pocket as a clock when i walk francis to school) only to find that it was off. hmmm...that's strange. i don't remember turning it off. so i turned it on, and uh-oh! ring ring. voicemail. 2 messages i missed yesterday...(sigh)
if i don't hear its piddly ring, i don't remember to check it.
if it goes dead, i don't remember to check it.
it really is just too much for me, to remember to check my phone...apparently.
i miss the good ole days, when the real phone plugged into the real wall, and it was always in the same place, and you could hear the ring from outside, and the answering machine would flash a red blinking light at you to tell you that you have a message...
